BMW's Frozen Black M3 Sells Out In Just Over 20 Minutes

BMW's Frozen Black M3 Sells Out In Just Over 20 Minutes
Maybe BMW should just continue building limited run models full time. I mean, I think every manufacturer would like to move a car just about every minute.

Anyway, it's bad joke. Moving along.

Oh yeah, now you can't get any of the 19 up-for-grabs matte black M3s. 19 were for sale with BMWNA keeping one that *may* go on sale at a later date.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

At 11:30am this morning, BMW of North America opened the ordering phone lines for the 2011 BMW Frozen Black Edition M3 Coupe. Limited to twenty units, the special M3 Coupe sold out in 22 minutes...

Really? And why wouldn't I just buy a regular M3, wrap it, and take it off when the fad with matte paint becomes out of fashion like shoulder pads from the 80's? Oh, and the poor souls probably don't know that it's a pain to touch up nicks/scrapes, or any tree zap or bird droppings must be washed off right away, etc...

i don't think the buyers of this car really care. they likely own multiple cars. and they'll just sell this one if they get bored with the color.

i'm not a fan of most matte finishes....much too dull. this one appears to have a subtle sheen. very nicely done. not for me personally, but i can appreciate it.

There is guy in the UK that purchased a Frozen Grey E92 M3. He wanted it to have a detail. He hired one of the best detailers in the UK and the guy used a wax that I can't recall the name of the brand of products he used and it looked fantastic when he was finished. So you can wash it, wax it and keep the paint looking dirty as that is the way matte finishes look to me. So it really is not as fragile as people make it out to be but it does require a certin amount of care. I would rather go BMW Individual for paint & leather anyway.
