With the additional weight of safety features, exhaust systems, upgraded interiors and the like CF is huge weight reduction advantage. A 2009 prius is heavier than a 1967 mustang V8. The only problem is body repairs, no bondo for carbon fiber as far as I know. Unless it's more cost effective to replace entire panels instead of patching bodywork which I don't know.

I can see the advantage of carbon fiber for all vehicles, including suvs and trucks, for off road race trucks the lighter it is the faster it can go in the rough, also it will be more efficient, who could complain about that, sign me up.
