2016 Porsche Pajun (Panamera Junior) rendered
In March 2011, German auto publication AutoBild carried a story on Porsche working on a junior Panamera to take on the likes of the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Jaguar XF and Audi A6. The volume-seeking German sports car company, after cars like the Panamera and Cayenne, is on a quest to widen its portfolio and meeting demands of new customers. It’s designing cars like invitation cards or entry passes for customers driving other European, American or Japanese cars.

The best way to begin is looking for answers internally. Smaller replicas of the Cayenne and Panamera are definite possibilities as these models have been resounding successes in Europe and America. Its pursuit is certainly not aiming for exclusivity.

Dubbed Porsche Pajun by enthusiasts, the Panamera junior will be a cocktail of Porsche trademark design touches and the key constituents of a four-door coupe’s design. Not only will the Pajun be smaller, it will also be a lot cheaper. Knowing Porsche’s future powertrain strategy, we can expect to see hybrid and electric along with petrol and diesel motors.

The Porsche Pajun will be launched by 2016 at a price tag of 60k Euros.

I've been a Porsche owner for 10 years now, but stuff like this gets me depressed. What's left? Lotus?

Great way to dilute a storied brand... I think their lineup is perfect right now - need to add to it just focus on making it better.

That kink in the rear window, taking away from the view of the person seating in the back is found on the Pontiac Grand Prix, Lexus IS and Dodge Charger..... but only the 2011 Kia Optima is the copycat and ignroing that it is now found on the 2012 Nissan Versa hatch.

Opps, I sorry the Nissan Versa hatch copied the Mazda 3's side. The Nissan Versa SEDAN is what I mean. Sorry.

I canonly imagine that Porsche designer would do more than just squish the Panamera like a soda can if they ever make a smaller hatch.

If they made it a coupe, it would be the modern iteration of a 944.

Porsche clearly wants to increase total volume sales, and how else to do that other than lower the price point and create entry level vehicles that are fuel efficient and serve the BMW 3 series crowd. I think they're shooting for the $40,000 ball park here.

Even Porsche would not put out a design like this. Further I would look for a restyle on Panamera version two. Remember version one was designed
during the Weideking era. Porsche will soon be part of the VAG conglomerate. Styling will change. There was room for the Cayenne, there was room for the Panamera, there is room for a the Cajenne and there will be room for a Pajenne(or what ever it is called).I have long predicted this car and frankly it makes perfect sense for Porsche. Further Porsche has VAG platforms at it's disposal as well as engines.
