STUD or DUD: Is Mini's All-New Coupe An AWESOME Extension Of The Lineup OR A Dud
For anyone that's been keeping up on MINI's latest models, due out soon are the Coupe and Roadster. The Coupe is set to hit showrooms in the fall.

Although we've seen the concept, which we believed wasn't going to differentiate too much in production form, now you can see what is said to be the production car thanks to the eagle-eyed folks at CAR Magazine across the pond.

They managed to snap two photographs of an uncloaked MINI Coupe in what appears to be a warehouse.

With that said, make sure to examine this shot and let us know in the comments below:

Is the MINI Coupe a STUD or a DUD?

Last week, MINI gave everyone a preview of the new Coupe with only light camoflage, but now, some intreprid photogs have caught the new coupe in the flesh, out of the factory and with no masking what-so-ever.

Everything here is as expected, which is a good thing. It means MINI stuck close to the script which was written back when the original concept first came out.

These two photos from CAR Magazine, show the sporty MINI with production paint and the typical MINI stripes, these extra features really let the car go that extra mile. In the first photo you can also make out the retractable spoiler, which is nicely integrated onto the production vehicle.

Expect the MINI Coupe in or around October 2011...

Its all about style. East coast upper crust village parking lots are full of Mini's for mom and dad to look hip. Like blazinboy I think the coupe is a little over the top for them (backward baseball cap top) and they will buy it for their teenage kids. However, I do believe the roadster will be a favorite amongst the aging enthusiasts looking for some fun but no longer can because of bad knees(myself included) get easily into or out of a Miata, Boxster, etc. etc.

Would've been better if the Mini Coupe was more "Coupe-like"...

Stud, to the public, I'm sure.
Mini 'half-a-Cooper'. So dud (pointless) if you ask me.

And how stylish are backwards baseball caps nowadays?

From what I've read the Coupe offers little to no advantage in performance and handling. You are just buying a different body style. To me that's a bit of a waste. The spider is going to make a little more sense in the fact that it more mimicks the MGB convertable and loses little to the coupe. I think Mini had a golden oportunity to make the coupe somthing a bit special and they blew it.The hatchback has more headroom and offers the same performance. The spider makes more sense to me as a 2 seater.

The roofline and B pillar copied the Kia Kee's.
