10 Things Automakers AREN'T Telling You About NEW Cars
Like most things, as time goes on things change.

The automotive industry is no exception, particularly as technology advances and other paradigm shifts happen. Like, for instance, do you know how hard it is to find a car with a full-size spare tire these days?

OR did you notice that since vehicles are required to have tire-pressure monitors, most vehicles come with the lame light on the dash? It's rare you get an actual readout that displays exactly which tire has a low pressure.

Well, if you want to see the rest of these examples, click "Read Article"

You've done your research. You've test driven the vehicles you're considering. You think you're a well-informed consumer, right?

Well, there are things automakers aren't telling you. But it's not necessarily a case of deception. It's just the quickly changing auto industry.

Here then, are 10 things your automaker isn't telling you.

"If your tire pressure is low, you have a 25 percent chance of guessing which one."

The federal government requires that all automakers equip new cars with tire-pressure monitors. There are two types. One uses a sensor at each wheel to measure the precise pressure. It's more expensive than the other one, which signals the driver if one wheel is turning at a slower speed than the others. This version, which is more common, doesn't tell you which tire is low. In most cases, the low-tire pressure light can only be reset by the dealer...

Essentially people/government want things from cars but don't really want to pay for them so you end up with compromises from manufacturers.

From wiki
"The Pilot shares underpinnings and the powertrain with the Acura MDX luxury SUV, and their platforms are shared with the Honda Odyssey[disambiguation needed] minivan and the Honda Accord sedan."

It took 4 dealer visits for my wife's Lexus to get a bad TPS fixed. Lexus evidently can't tell which tire is low even though a Honda can.

Sorry to burst your bubble 'nonofyobus' but he posted pics a while back of the Lexus when they purchased it... #epicfailonyourbehalf

lol remember this is the guy who doesn't believe anything on wikipedia can be used as reliable information. I partly wonder if he's ever tried editing an article to see how fast it gets corrected, or whether his edits even get approved in the first place.

hmmm interesting reply, you managed to squeeze two f-bombs within 3 words.

Also, I've told you several times now, work on your comprehension, I never said it was lol.

But as you wish...

From your link
"car-based unit body design"

lmao, do you realize how hypocritical you are being?

You don't believe anything that comes from wiki's or blogs, or even news articles, yet you yourself use a news article about the zdx as "proof" that the pilot/accord platforms are different. LMAO! Congrats nonofyobus, you just made my day ahahaha.

Now while you go back and take your reading comprehension course you may also want to take a very basic logic course so you don't become a hypocrite again.

I love full size spares, when I do road trips I just hope I never get a flat, especially when I am in the middle of nowhere, the cost of tires in the middle of nowhere is considerably more and way out of the way, and just don't get a flat on a sunday in a small town in the Bible belt.

Honda seriously only has two majoe platforms on which they build from; USDM Accord (MDX, Pilot, Odyssey, TL, RL, Ridgeline, ZDX/Crosstour) and the USDM Civic (CRV, RDX, Element). The CRZ is a one off, like the NSX/S2000 back in the day but it wouldn't surprise me if it was Civic based. The TSX is the JDM/EU Accord. That about covers boring old honda, they used to build fun cars once upon a time. Ohh the good old days.
