RUMOR: Mercedes-Benz GLS To Square Up Against BMW's X6

One of the biggest complaints about the BMW X6 is its incapability to go off pavement. However, you can't really knock the car
that much considering how damn good it drives on the road. It literally drives as good as a standard BMW sedan. Considering its ride height and heft, it's practically a miracle.
But Mercedes-Benz must have taken note of this and is said to be working on a Jeep Grand Cherokee-based, CLS-inspired off-roader. Take a second and absorb that.
So you'll have the looks of a CLS paired together with the off-roading capability of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. That seems pretty...wild, right?
Here's an even more intriguing question: would Mercedes be building something that buyers don't want as it is though? Is this futuristic product a bit too niche?
