Would You Rather Own A Vehicle Assembled in The US, Or One That Created The Most US Jobs?
The ABC News "Made in America" team has been working this week with the Stewart family of Hillsdale, N.J., as it looks for a new car. We asked which car would create more jobs, an American car made in the United States, or a foreign car that is also made here.

I'm not too sure about this analysis, Ford Employs about three times as many people as Toyota and they both sell about the same number of vehicles.

Look I have admiration for Hyundai and Kia.But I must say that if I had 2 or 3 cars in the family fleet one of those will be from an American company. I feel comfortable saying that. The rest of the fleet would probably be from Europe. The only Jap cars I would consider are either the new Scion FRS Coupe or Subaru version or Subaru WRX or STI or the Susuki Kisashi. There is nothing from Honda,Toyota, Nissan or Mitsubishi I would even want to look at(now that the Evo is going away and will be some stinkin hybrid)

As many of us here on this site live in the western world, we have been the beneficiaries of international trade and globalization. The standard of living that we enjoy today is partly a result of this. We vote in governments that promote this trade and are thus able to sell Coca Cola and Hollywood movies around the world. Yet, when there is foreign competition we tend to whine and say that we should only buy American etc. This is why I really don't care where anything is produced, as long as it's good quality and does not exploit any groups. People tend to see prosperity only as a zero-sum game, it's not.

"But....the standard of living for some people in this country (i.e. USA) is not being enjoyed. Just ask the folks in Detroit and Flint Michigan, or other parts of the country that have become 'victims' of globalization."
WE THE PEOPLE voted in the governments and supported the businesses and economic system that allowed that to happen.
When manufacturing shifted from Europe ages ago to the USA because it was cheaper, did the US complain then?

I'll buy the car I want, regardless of origin or number of jobs created.
