SPIED: BMW's Big-Daddy 7-Series Getting Some Work Done For 2013

SPIED: BMW's Big-Daddy 7-Series Getting Some Work Done For 2013
You know what time it is? Lifecycle Impulse time!

It doesn't exactly roll of the tongue, now does it? In BMW-speak that means it's time for a face lift or model revamp. If I didn't know any better I'd say they must have taken some lessons from Beverly Hills plastic surgeons to spin wording like that.

Anyway, the range-topping 7-Series is starting to show some wrinkles so BMW's designers are going to inject some vitality into its big-daddy sedan. From these initial spy images, it appears that the front facade will receive some minor tweaks, new mirrors will make an appearance, and its rear valence will get a touch up as expected from a clean up.

Do you have any other suggestions or ideas as to what else BMW may be looking to improve this time around?

Make sure to weigh in down below!

With the fifth-generation of the BMW 7-Series limousine codenamed F01 entering its third year in production, it’s time for the Bavarian company to begin readying a mid-life facelift for its flagship model.

Our
spies snagged a lightly camouflaged prototype of the 7-Series bearing the ActiveHybrid 7 badges while testing in Germany...

Adjust the grills. To me they are the weak poing in the design. Either they need to make the lights bigger or the grills wider and a little thinner.

The grill it too fat and tall. I guess it is due to the pedestrian safety rule crap. The grill needs to be shorter or something. everything else is curvy and then all of the sudden there is this flat, tall, upright grill that looks like a wall.

Yeah wider grills, better looking tail-lights, less babyish looking headlights. Overall the design is bland and uninspiring. Take a look at the Jag XJ - they did a pretty good job on that

When I always see this car driving beside me. I see is all about the E60 with the different that they soft the rectangular lines and improve accesories quality to the higher standars, like door handler, led tail lights, etc.

Very true, I can never tell if its a 5 or 7 unless I'm very close to one.

Another vote for redesigned tail lights. That large red pool of plastic spilling onto the side does not speak "luxury" to me.

If I love something from BMW in addition of engine is their own criterion, strong personality. This is references for mirror lights,as I see they will adopt Mercedes way, is not bad but until now BMW keep his owm idea not like Volvo, Audi even Jaguar they use Mercedes light mirror immediately. This small details tell so much about caracter of the Brand.

I've always loved the F01 7er. It looks very upscale yet sporty. Only thing I would change is the front bumper, add 3D LEDs to the front lights, and maybe tweak the interior slightly.

The car is ugly in front , honestly I can't see how they can fix it. But I hope they will cause is a nice car inside, IMO I like more than the Audi A8 (New one).

I'm a fan of the 5er now. I don't care what they do to this car. It would be nice to see the 6 interior in here. Actually, it be nice to see the 6er interior in EVERY Bmw (imo).

IMO it would look better if the grill had a more upscale, refined design, it looks too simple;and more agressive f/r bumpers would be nice too; Overall, I like the design.

I thought turn signals on front fenders was some kind of signature design cue of BMW. IMO BMW should have kept the fender turn signals but like everyone else they are going for side mirror turn signals.

What difference? I guess they just want to have some change to point to before the weenie auto writers start complaining about the car becoming old hat.

I believe they should have redesigned the 7 series completely, have any one tried to measure front doors? it's a desing mistake by BMW, they are so small for such a car, once you open the front doors, it get even smaller for an average guy.
If you look at it from the side, you'll feel it was designed for a 3 series.
