VIDEO: Will The Car Show Upstage Top Gear USA?

Speed TV is looking to combat the History Channel's Top Gear USA with its own take on a few guys sitting around talking about cars. But it looks like this show may have an edge on TGUSA. That's because Top Gear's U.S. presenters aren't exactly the best presenters.

No offense, guys.

Starting on July 13, look out for The Car Show with Adam Corolla and three of his cohorts. The only auto journo to win a Pulitzer, Dan Neil, our friend Matt Farah and former NBA player John Salley.

Are you serious car history started in american and until recently we lead the industry. The real problems are one why the hell is Top Gear USA on the history in the first place? and two it is not as interesting as the UK version with the stig and great celebrity guests. Most people who watch the UK version know nothing about cars it is a truly entertaining and interesting show that even families watch together and the who USA is going to need to appeal to. I remembering hearing it was the most watch show globally and that's when they brought it to Australia and the US. I wouldn't be surprised if they already made more though.

To answer the question of this new show it won't succeed and I see it as maybe even being worse because all these guys are pretty much the the same except dan neil seems crazy. Top Gear UK has an old crazy guy an old boring guy and a pretty boy. This has a guy thats really into cars a guy that's really into cars and a crazy guy that really into cars.

While I generally disagree with blazinboy on most topics he is dead on with this one. Top Gear USA and this new show with Adam Carolla and troup will not make it. Unless the shows can find presenters that have a great chemistry and are truly funny the show is going to bomb I predict.The British show simply works because the presenters connect incredibly well with the audience and TV viwers from around the globe. The American shows simply need different personal. I would suggest getting some "over the hill actors" who happen to like cars.
