Greenpeace Targets VW Oppostion To CO2 Regulations With Death Star Spoof

Greenpeace Targets VW Oppostion To CO2 Regulations With Death Star Spoof
Greenpeace has jumped on the Volkswagen Little Vader spoof bandwagon, mocking the automaker's much-feted Super Bowl spot "The Force" with a new environmentally friendly online campaign. Marvel already parodied the VW ad with a mini-Thor spot to promote the comic publisher's new movie. But the Jedi tree huggers—including, naturally, Yoda—are taking a more pointed, direct shot at VW, blaming the company for destroying the world. Literally—like, a giant, looming.

As I said before and will say again, we've already burned through half of our oil reserves and are still hundreds if not thousands of times below C02 levels that can actually harm the environment. The levels we are at now actually help plant life grow.

Finally, we won't even run out of oil. Once the price per barrel goes high enough third gen bio fuels that use barren waste land will be the more economic route to take. And they are carbon neutral.

They can't be that terrible, I think they are simply the kind of people that blame themselves for their parents divorce.

"They're not there yet...what is problematic is the fact the energy used to produce biofuels tends to come in the form of fossil fuels. So scientists emit carbon dioxide even they work to produce a fuel that doesn't...."

"But there are already questions over whether there is enough land available for biofuels to be able to replace even 50 percent of our fossil fuel use. According to The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, a maximum of 300 million hectares worldwide could be used for biofuels, but even if the biofuel industry used up 290 million hectares of that, it would only meet one tenth of the projected energy demands for 2030."

"Europe only has a limited amount of land to set aside for biofuels, and according to the Soil Association, quoting OECD figures, if the EU gave up 72 per cent of its arable land, it would only only be able to serve 10 percent of its fuel needs."

Biofuel alone can not, and will not run the economy, even with petroluim as a suplement. Energy will have to come from many other sources in the future not just bio fuel...

Please do some more reading, that article is talking about first gen bio fuels that come from corn. I'm not talking about ethanol from corn. Biofuel from algae can fuel the entire USA oil demands in as little as 15,000 square miles, about 1% of what the USA currently uses for crops. Plus, it doesn't require fertile soil, just salt water and sun.

It looks like you don't know anything about science, and never been into a Astronmy Course which the introduction is about present problems about CO2 and methane contamination to our atmosphere.

Learn some science Joe... your thoughts are plain lemons.

You act as if this carbon dioxide has never been in the air before. There was a time when all these oil reserves were formed that we had a higher CO2 level without all your dooms day science scenarios. Maybe you should learn some science, or better yet, some common sense.

That article provides very little insight...

So should VW just start polluting more, and continue to sell greater quantities of less efficent cars than the competition?? While preventing legilation, that makes car more efficent, which would result in the conservation natural resources?

GreenPEACE. Could be the worst name ever for an organization that really doesn't WANT peace or have a mission to employ peaceful methods.

If they WERE peaceful and reasonable thinkers I and most people would have much more respect for them.
