SPIED: 2013 BMW 7-Series Spotted In Camo And Sportin' A New Look
Even though it feels like the current-generation 7-Series was released just yesterday, it's already time for its facelift or in BMW-speak "Life-cycle Impulse." Yeah, po-ta-toe, pah-tah-toe, whatever.

Long story short, it was captured during testing sporting some camouflage but in a very specific place. Note its headlights are wrapped alongside the edges and its front valence is buttoned up quite a bit. Right off the bat one thing you should notice is that the trademark grill has a bit more of a pop to it.

Aside from that we don't know much else. Judging from previous models it should be expected that the interior will receive a minor reworking, there will be new wheel options and the front/rear clips will be restyled.

The F01 7-Series has been a real hit for BMW, but the company is not resting on its laurels.
An LCI 7-Series has been planned for some time, and should be arriving to market in the near future. The overarching theme of this LCI (stands for Life Cycle Impulse -- A facelift), is to 'not fix it if it ain't broke'. The changes are subtle on the whole and aim to freshen and not re-invent the look.

These series of spyphotos seem to confirm what was previously speculated. The overall shape of the headlights is unchanged, but there is now incorporation of the latest LED technology, which is filtering across the BMW range.

The kidney grills now have a thicker and more pronounced kidney grill surround, accentuating the grills and making them look larger...

Rate of development at BMW is great. Won't be surprised to see updated TT V8 as well because Mercedes(4.6 TT), Hyundai(5.0) and Infiniti(5.6) V8s make upwards of 420BHP.

The 7-Series is already making a lot more power already than BMW says it is:

http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtests/2009/04/2009-bmw-750i-the-dyno-reveals-the-beast-within.html

For those who don't want to read the article, it dyno'd at 391hp and 434lb-ft at the wheels, which is 434hp and 482lb-ft with a 10% drivetrain loss, and 460hp and 510lb-ft using 15%. And that's the "400hp/450lb-ft" version they tested, not the 440hp/480hp version that BMW uses in the hybrid. If BMW wants to announce a higher output figure because it sounds better they can go ahead, but what I REALLY want to see them do is put the 8-speed in the car already (which incidentally, the hybrid also already uses). Every new BMW model uses it (5-Series and X3), they put it in the X5 when they refreshed it for 2011, the upcoming X1, 1-Series, and 3-Series will have it, etc., yet it's not in their flagship vehicle, the car that originally was supposed to launch the use of that transmission. Put the 8-speed in there, BMW!

I've been a huge fan of the F01's styling. This will be an improvement over an already great design. The old 7er never had the road presence and command that the F01 has.
