RENDERED SPECULATION: If The Next-Gen Porsche 911 Looks Like THIS Will You APPROVE?

RENDERED SPECULATION: If The Next-Gen Porsche 911 Looks Like THIS Will You APPROVE?
There have been TONS of spy images surrounding the next-generation Porsche 911. That's because regardless of how many people try to tear this car down as "being the same car that's slightly tweaked," it remains an icon and it gets better every time.

Some may say it's even the quintessential sports car.

Long story short, no one has been able to get a solid look at what lies underneath the camo because Porsche has kept it under wraps, very tightly. But that hasn't stopped artists from taking the overall shape, some Panamera-inspired cues and piecing the 991 together.

With that said, we give way to a rendering that was put up on Autobild.

I like the front bumper and inlets, it's more aggressive, but some may say too similar to the R8?

I like they lifted the headlights up slightly.

Why is it starting to look like a R8?

I agree! The added wheelbase is easy to see, and IMHO not in a good way. Audi dealt with it by adding the "blade" but here is just looks awkward.

Porsche. Just as I was saying there's no way I'm getting the next one without PSK(DSG), they go and make a 7 speed manual. That's just cool even for the bragging rights.

i don't know why you wouldn't get the 6 speed to begin with.....

The approval of the readers of this website is not important, since from the lack of intelligence typically displayed here, it's clear that 99% of the readers of this site will never be able to afford a 991. In fact, I'd guess that 50% or more still live with mommy.

Daddy likes...not too sure about the back end yet but everything else. Check out the inside line story. They had a drive.

I am happy to see that Porsche is attempting to improve on the one thing that made me switch to them - their incredible manual transmission. Nothing shifts like a Porsche and being such a MT enthusiasts I am very excited to see how they brought in the 7 speed and added the launch control to it!

991 will be exciting that is for sure!

Interesting they'd label it 991 after the last model was 997. Why go backwards?

That would be like the next generation 3 series being called the E50.

Makes no sense to me.

I don't believe those "blades" will make it to production though.

True the car does look like a typical 911. You would never mistake for anything else. Saying that it does look a bit different and thats not bad.Further it will have the only 7 speed manual in the industry so it does make thei car unique.Becasue of the shift in weight distribution the car is supposed to handle more like a mid-engine one. That alone should make it a lot more competative to the R8. In fact a Carrera S is now putting out 400 HP,close to the R8's 414HP. The Porsche weighs less so it should perform and handle at least as well. As for interior it should be at least as upscale as the R8 now that the console and gauages come from a Panamera. It appears that Porsche has made their 911 a better car. The R8 has a more exotic body style but the 911 may offer a better driving experience now. The style of the 911 endures because it is the philosophy of Porsche to always build a practical exotic. It looks like they have acheived this again.
