SPIED: 00R Catches The 2012 Range Rover Evoque IN PUBLIC Before Its Release -- How's It Look On The Street?
In my little 'hood just outside of New York City -- yes, in New Jersey -- there's some pretty good spotting. That's because northern New Jersey is home to a handful of automakers' North American headquarters. Let's see, there is:
1) BMW
2) Mercedes-Benz
3) Volvo
4) Ferrari/Maserati
And, last but not least...
5) Jaguar/Land Rover
With that said, sometimes I get the chance to see some special products rolling around --
remember the 2012 Jaguar XFR
? This time it was the 2012 Range Rover Evoque. Sure, we've seen it at the auto shows but as we've discussed numerous times, autos look completely different on the street.
If you thought the 2012 Evoque looked futuristic and aggressive under the harsh lights of the shows, just wait until you see it in person on the street next to other cars. It
really
has presence, even in this subdued red.

aha Yeah man! It sure is a whole lot tinier than I had imagined, esp when similarily compared with what was seen at LA Auto Show! It does seem like a handy little thing though!

A 2 door SUV? Talk about a conflict of interest.. it failed for the GMC Jimmy and most likely will fail here too.

A nice sports suv, I would prefer a four door, and it is probably over priced.

You really have to like the look of a 2 door SUV, otherwise, it's not really a 'utility' vehicle. In 2 door form, you can barely fit anything in there. I think the 4 door version will appeal to most people.

I wonder what's the amount of new SUV's hitting the woods today?

It looks like it's trying too hard to look hip and cool...

It needs the performance and efficiency of BMW's new 4 cylinder for the 5 series.

Thought the background looked familiar. I live in the same town. Several of my neighbors work for BMW and there are special cars around often.
