AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Changes for the 2007 Porsche 911's

If you have been holding out on purchasing that 2006 Porsche 911 because you were hoping that Satellite radio and bluetooth capability would be available in 2007, then you'd be wrong.

REAL WRONG!

The only changes coming on the 07' 911's will be the addition of Meteor grey as a new color, a $1200 price increase and the TPMS system will be standard.

I believe that all 2007 cars are required by law to have TPMS standard. BTW, Porsche has the most rediculously priced options in the world. A Cayman S can cost around 70k without a Navi.

The only con in porsche is it's price.They have always been and r overpriced,but yeah they r so good that people don't mind paying an extra 5-6K.

But spies u r right,me and many others were really expecting a little more options standard on the new 07 911.Especially Satellite radio and bluetooth capability.

As do I. Porche offers great value sports cars. Those options are just that - options. Walking away with a "base" 911 Carrera, you have one hell of a ride.

porsche always skrimp on equipment. the last 911 didn't have electric seats as standard, the old boxster didn't have leather, air con or a cd player as standard!

Porsche... Porsches can charge anything for their options and people will still buy them because they are Porsches, the real ultimate driving machines (no offense Bimmer people, I love Bimmers too)...

Porsches are definitely one of the best value for the money, though I will state again that I hate the whole BANG FOR THE BUCK idea...

If you compare the likes of Lamborgini, Ferrari, or Aston Martin you really have a 'bang for buck' value (sorry Jovi =P.. I hate that too). Porsche is an exotic vehicle whether people realize it or not. It's not a daily driving kind of car. For 100K USD/CAD a Mercedes S-Class is more of a daily driver. Funny isn't it? it's in the same price range.

Anyway my point is that Porsche is not less of a sportscar because it's cheaper than its competitors. It all boils down to taxes, cost to build, and etc. There are many factors that determine a price for these great vehicles.

As for options.... someone who can afford a Porsche can definately afford it's available options.

OK people....If you have to be s worried about talking on your phone handsfree, than you don't need a Porsche. These cars are meant to be driven!! Geezzzz. If I had the cash to buy a Porsche, I would not let the non-availability of those 2 things render my decision. Besides, most people who can afford this car already hae a car with all that crap on it anyhow.

porsches are insanley good value, but it doesn't have any direct competition. a ferrari is a very different proposition (imagine trying to take that to the supermarket), an m-b is luxury, a bmw doesn't have the badge, a jaguar is a cruiser, etc.
a 911 really is the ONLY supercar you could drive everyday. it all boils down to whether it can carry any shopping or go over a speed bump. ferraris can't do that.

Actually, Porsche's are better daily drivers than the MB S class, if reliability and maintenance are a measure. The Porsche 911 is the ONLY "exotic" sport car that can be driven every day to 50,000 miles with the same amount of time in the shop as the average passenger car (if not better than average). Drive a Ferrari like that, and you're literally in the shop for 3 days every 3,000 miles or less. Ouch.
