Gotta love the comment: BMW will not copy Audi’s “sausage factory” approach to design.

Isnt that what they had been doing?

This is just a rendering.

BMW styling has become more conservative, but it is not the same design in different sizes like Audi.

Nope, not with a face that only a mother, or a fanboy could love.

whats the point of this when a Z4M could do the job perfectly.

The M2 will replace the 1M, and BMW will move the next generation Z4 further up market. The news of a revolutionary new m3, and the use of more carbon fiber in M cars is exciting news.. Good times ahead!

to be clear, while the information in the article may have come from BMW, those images did not, correct? Those are artist renderings of what the car COULD look like (essentially a mashup of the i8 and ConnectedDriver Concept). So the M2 hasn't actually been revealed, they just confirmed they're going to make one. I think it'd be fantastic if it looked like those renderings, but I doubt it will. Time will tell.

A Big Yuck from Steve. Thank god it's only speculation, and not something actually from BMW.

Oops! "Auto Express spoke exclusively to the M Division’s new managing director, Dr Friedrich Nitschke, and he revealed the car was key to his plans." Ugly is back at BMW :-(

Steve, those are Auto Express' renderings, so, you should not blame BMW for the ugly(in your opinion) designs. I think it is quite nice, but as JrobUSC said, I doubt it will look like this.

I hate it when you hit the front valence on a curb. Where's the "before" photo?

Thank you! I stand corrected. Since BLW stepped away from "Flame Surface," I feel they've generally taken a step in the "right" direction.

Appears something is wrong with the "reply to" links. My reply...

...*should* have been to BimmersNme.

I don't think BMW would ever mass produce something that odd looking.

Definitely reminds me of Bangle's work (which I hated at first) and in comparison to today's bimmers I certainly would take this over anything they currently have to offer.

This rendering was rushed by AutoExpress to tie in with the article. The car will have a distinctive look. It will be cool.

The car design is great, green light, comment as always with a typical reaction when BMW show up something new and revolutionary and then all start to copy in silent.
