CONFIRMED: Jaguar Pushes Ahead With An XFR Estate -- Another 500 + HP Wagon Comin' Up!

CONFIRMED: Jaguar Pushes Ahead With An XFR Estate -- Another 500 + HP Wagon Comin' Up!
Although I can't remember which was the car that started this all, the two cars that would likely compete with the newly announced Jaguar XFR estate would be the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG estate -- yes, it is U.S. bound -- and the Cadillac CTS-V wagon.

It seems that most automakers have wagon fever, especially when it comes to pumping out more than 500 horsepower.

So, I guess it is true. There is a car god.

One thing that is a bit interesting is that Jaguar's already hinting that this new XFR estate won't exactly be roomy. In addition, note that it uses the name "Sport Break." I am going to put two and two together here and speculate that this isn't going to be so much of a wagon as it will be a slinky, four door coupe with a hatch.

Jaguar confirmed they are working on a Jaguar XFR Sport Break. The R version based on the 2012 Jaguar XF Sport Break will be Jaguar’s answer to the Audi S6 Avant and Mercedes E63 AMG Estate. The XFR Estate will have the same 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine, that is good for 510hp, as the Jagaur XFR sedan.

The news is confirmed by the head designer at Jaguar; Ian Callum, in an interview with Autovisie...

Biggest european markets love wagons - Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Sweden so if Jaguar wants to sell well there they should make a wagon version of XF.
