Well, it got a very respectable 71 mpg on the Japanese cycle test compared to 84 mpg for the Prius, so given that it costs much less than a Prius it seems like a no-brainer. Unless you need the extra passenger space.

Pose it this way..If you want a soulless transportaion appliance and want to spend more, Leaf and the Pree-us are the way to go, If you like a bit of involvement, Mazda is the way to go.
