Look Out GT-R? Kia Begins Testing The Waters With V8 Powered Sports Car
Kia will signal its intent to make sportier cars by showing a V8-powered rear-wheel-drive coupe concept model at September’s Frankfurt motor show.
Speaking to What Car? in Seoul, Kia’s boss Hank Lee admitted that the company needed a so-called halo model to improve its brand image and that the coupe was the first of a series of show cars to test the water.

Kia is improving but not that much. The GTR is ZR1 level of performance.

Its funny you played right into his rediculous headline(more trash lines??? isnt it getting old) no where does it say it will compete with the GTR not to mention, of all the V8 rear wheel drive sports from the Mustang to the 370z of all cars why mention a 6 cylinder turbo all wheel drive car as an assumed competitor............stick to car reporting not tabloid bs made to make lemmings respond....but hey clearly its working the lemmings run and jump off everytime....

Just because they want to build a V8 car, has nothing to do with them being able to do it well. To me the GT-R is hideous, but it does as advertised. Another stupid post.

LOL, OMG, you have to be kidding me. Sorry, but no Hyundai/Kia will ever compete with the GT-R. The GT-R competes and dominates exotics, not low class pedestrian cars such as Hyundai/Kia.

There's always a big obsession about the GT-R/Porsche match. In the mean time, Porsche has proved with around 30,000 victories in motorsports, who they are. While Nissan is claiming how fast Barney is!

I wouldnt have said "look out GT-R" but this "V8 powered RWD sports car" shouldnt be laughed at by so many of you. During midnight racing here in Chicago a fella's Hyundai Genesis Coupe has smoked G37's, Nissan Z's, Mazda RX-8's and more. I know his car is tuned but the point is Hyundai makes it (and Hyundai is tied to Kia). Just sayin'...
