Is There Such As Thing As Too Many Turbos? Next BMW M3 To Be Tri-Turbo Powered
Get ready for a boom in M cars. The boss of BMW’s M Division, Dr Friedrich Nitschke, has confirmed that a raft of new models wearing the famous badge is on the way – with the M2 to be joined by a powerful M3 and a successor to the M1 supercar.

“Our pace of development must accelerate,” he told Auto Express in an exclusive interview. “We can build more cars, and we can build a wider range of cars.”

"One of the turbos would be powered by electricity (not exhaust gases as with traditional setups). The motor is speculated to produce 450bhp.

The F30/F32 M3's body would make use of CFRP to keep its weight down."

The electric turbo would be used a low rpm to eliminate lag until the two larger conventional turbos kick in.

That is in fact a Great idea , one for low rpm one for middle and the last one for High so you do not get any turbo lag. Or just variable geometry depending of the RPM as Porsche does.

I bet it will sound cool. I'm a little weird though...I prefer the sound of intakes, superchargers, and turbos to exhaust--V8 rumble does nothing for me.
