Does The Woman In Your Life Tell You What Car You Can Drive?

Does The Woman In Your Life Tell You What Car You Can Drive?
Just in case you didn't know, let me remind you, women rule the world. Ok, so moving past this lil fact, when couples go car shopping did you know, women are the actual decision-makers when it comes to selecting a vehicle?  No typos here folks!  Women have the final word, when you men think you've called the shots and are ready to sign on the dotted line for that spanking new car.

According to industry stats in approximately 80 percent of cases where couples are purchasing a car, the woman decides on the make and model of the vehicle.

Clearly demonstrated when 009's wife bought the RX.

LOL. Well she gets what she wants and "typically" I can ask for what I want...

Wife doesn't directly choose the cars we have in the garage. She does choose which car in the garage that she will drive predominantly. Recently I swayed her decision by installing a relatively obnoxious exhaust on the car I prefer, ;)

And that's why 80% of marriages end in divorce. Women - let us pick our cars and keep our nuts

When I bought my second car my GF had a big influence and it was boring and bland. I quickly sold it and never put her opinion to mind when I purchase my cars ever again.

They sort of do rule the world, just in small ways. Quick example: the only thing louder than my after market exhaust is my wife's bitching about it. This means that on a road trip we take her car or I swap it out for sanity sake.

Heard number of times while working at a shop from people with nice cars that are automatic say "I would have bought a stick-shift but the wife can't drive it". That's a shame - that's why I got mine as car-crazed as possible. I'm sure she'd veto my choices - if my choices were slow, boring, or on soft suspension. Hasn't happened thus far =)

When figuring out my next car which will be bought this fall I've been all over the map from CPO BMW and Volvo wagons to waiting for the new Focus ST. I settled on the one that fits my needs the best, the new Jetta GLI. My fiances response to all my searching and final decision; "Buy whatever you want, it's your car."

:-)

the ONLY reason Lexus sells vehicles. No man drives a Lexus. My friend works for cars.com and their studies show 90%! F that noise. If she can afford it, she can buy it. I make money and I drive the vehicle I love, a BMW 335i. Every girl I date, loves it.
Every woman wants an X5, but settles for the RX only based on price.

Is an RX and a X5 even in the same class. Couldn't she get a X3? Wouldn't a GX be a better competitor to the X5? How about you think before you speak !

My wife drives my old 330i with 5-speed. I've promised her a DSG GTI or Golf TDI soon, she is sick of clutching in traffic. One of the great things about being a car guy is it turns a major cost center for families into something like a hobby. Most people just don't get that.

I have been blessed with a wife that likes muscle cars. She also enjoys drag racing, off road racing and circle/road racing. Her dad built his own sand buggies and dragsters until he passed away at 43. We pretty much agree on the same vehicles. She loves her Hemi.

Unless you have a family (kids), I don't see why you fellas would allow a woman to tell you what you drive. I'm gay and I'm also lost. Unless SHE is paying for it, fill me in on why this is even a question please...

When I get married, I surely won't let her make that decision for me.

My wife dictates most of my life, except what I drive, that would be the day, lol, although if she knew more than I did about vehicles I would be happy to let her make the decisions, although I do let her dictate the color, blue, this also is my favorite color. Those who wears the pants in the house always wears the pants. ,lol

I drive a lifted 02 Discovery II with a magnaflow exhaust and off road tires. She drives an ML320 mommy car. I have my E30 325i, and my E24 745i turbo. I am looking at a 1 series or a BMW bike next. As long as her car is quiet and rides good she is happy.

Let me put it to you this way. If I was not currently married I would still own a 78 POrsche 911 SC,a 1986 Alfa GTV6, and a 1981 Alfa spider.Instead I own a 2006 Mini Cooper S and 2001 Toyota Rav 4.(What she drives). So yes I've made some compromises.

I'll begin by saying, prior to our marriage, I advuised my intended that after we were married, everything would be ours, with one exception, my car. She had no problem with that, and I have never consulted her on what I drive. And, yes, she has her own car, which she picks out. She also worked, so that did not create any conflict. We also had two children, so I am not sure why children would present a problem. Oh, we have been married 46+ years, and I just bought a new 5.0 Mustang GT/CS, 6 spd.
