New Toyota Corolla goes back to the drawing board-Delayed one year

Automotive news is reporting: Toyota has delayed the redesigned Corolla for U.S. showrooms a year, until spring 2008. The delay is surprising because Toyota adheres to a disciplined redesign schedule. The current Corolla will be on the market six years, not the typical five.

Well, five years is on the shorter side.

The market is moving so fast in this segment, it is easy for a new car to become dated before the initial release. It at least takes guts to pull back and release the right mix of features.

yaris replaced the echo segment. toyota decided to redesign the corolla after looking at the civic. the redesign they had planned was too generic, while the civic, with it's sharper image has been selling off honda's lot. smart move for toyota, but why can't they get things right the first time? they need somebody better up there calling shots, imho.

mostafa why thinking so negative about TOYOTA,that too about THE SUPREME COROLLA.

It's a fact that Corolla is the best seller. And it's doing great in each part of the World. Therefore it's a good and smart move from Toyota to contineou building and selling the current Corolla for 1 more year.
What's wrong in it.
Europeans use a car for 7 years and even more for some Luxury or Sports cars.

So i pray the new Best-seller will be better than ever, and break many records in sales and coustomers-satisfication and many more.
