A Highline Detailer Just Can't Figure It Out: Why Does "Show" Car's Paint Look SO Bad?

If you know anything about extreme automotive detailing, one of the top guys in the business is Todd Cooperider. He's ranked among the top in the field and he has essentially become the voice of highline detailing.

It seems that as we're in the middle of Concours season, you know when all the old farts gather 'round and bring out their babied, never-driven hardware, Cooperider has started noticing something. The paint on these "Show" cars is simply not up to par.

How could that be? These are suppose to be the best of the best, right? Well, they're not.

And if you have two identical cars side by side, the one with the better condition of paint is going to get the most attention. It’s not even worth arguing. It’s fact. Well, we couldn't ALL attend trade school, Todd! And pitching a tv show to boot??!! I wonder if "Coopey" would be satisfied being the EXCLUSIVE detailer to all cars on the Concours? Or maybe a celebrity car wash boy? Could do a "wash" video with Paris! Call me Todd! Let me get working on that for ya!! Hmmmmm

In Cooperider's defense, I am pretty confident he already has a booked calendar in terms of business.

This isn't some sales routine, he's just talking about his passion and what he's seen in the "Show" car world.

BTW, I am pretty sure that getting rid of swirl marks that SHOULDN'T be there has nothing to do with "...having the best, most expensive or newest technology paint jobs." That's not high tech, that's just a proper job done well.

Just my two cents.

Grow up, Agent!! He is pitching a tv show!!!! Go back and LOOK at the proof pic in the link and see the ANGLE of the shot, the background! Is he referring to those high end detailers charging $300 for a Veyron too??? If you (Todd) are going to spout, be HONEST!!!
