Performance and fuel economy will go up but you do lose the V8 soundtrack.

what does the liters have to do with the sound besides nothing?? If youve heard the S5 you would know what hes talking about. Havent heard an S4 but I'm pretty sure it doesnt have the V8 sound thats in the S5. I have to say though that new front end makes it look bland not sure why it does since its not that big of a difference but it look softer and bland.

Huh? "Small", high revving, naturally aspirated, DOHC V8s sound fantastic. Give a listen to an M3, an RS5/R8, or a Ferrari sometime. They're almost musical (I actually have the M3 exhaust note as my ringtone).

When did Ferrari start building cars in Germany? I'm sure a high revving DOHC V8 from America would sound great too, there just isn't one. The closest thing is the Coyote engine in the new Mustang. BTW, I appreciate the big bass rumble of a large OHV V8, too, it reminds me of the 60's (in fact my first car was a 500hp 1989 Mustang GT 5.0, and it was a beast -- I used to drive around setting off car alarms with the exhaust). I just am also capable of appreciating the musical, exotic sound of a smaller, high revving DOHC V8. Because it would be "narrow minded" not to be able to appreciate both.

The head lights look similar to Mitsubishis

I still like the pre-facelift Audi A5 better than this new one. Doesn't have the same presence.

That's awesome news! That gives the car the 7 speed DSG gearbox found in the S5 convertible and S4 sedan as well....all good stuff. Stasis will give that engine 410hp and 370lbs/ft for a minimal investment. That should give it performance numbers close to that of the RS5 and maybe even the M3. The fact that it'll hit 30mpg hwy and almost 20mpg city is like icing on the cake. I'll miss the V8 but this is exactly what this car needed.

In response to the direct injection question: To my knowledge, that only affected 2006-2007 3.2V6 that has been more or less discontinued.

The space between the head lights and grill looks like the 1 series.

Disappointed.
The A5/S5/RS5 were the cars I liked the most in AUDI's lineup;IMHO,the front end lost the mean stance and gained a feminine and bland look now;Pity.

Disappointed. At least before when you looked at it from a dead on front view it was indistinguishable from high end Audi's, now it's indistinguishable from the A3.

America will be the last to produce V8 engines, Europe is finding the same power and torque in smaller more efficient engines (BMW's new 4 cylinder for the 5er is pretty amazing). The V8 will be like a V10 or V12 and reserved for the exotic.

So buy the last of the BMW/Audi/MB V8s today.
