WHAT? Hyundai OUSTS Toyota and Honda To Become Number One In Brand Loyalty!
Hyundai has ousted traditional mainstays Honda and Toyota to take the No. 1 spot in brand loyalty on kbb.com for Q2 2011. While Hyundai took the top spot in loyalty in February 2010, this marks the first time that Hyundai has held the No. 1 spot for an entire quarter. While many of the auto industry’s top players have found themselves struggling to retain customers, Hyundai has blazed a new trail and preserved its loyal consumer base. The driving factors behind this retention have been aggressive marketing campaigns combined with innovative product redesigns like the highly successful 2011 Sonata and 2011 Elantra.

For Q2 2011, Hyundai’s brand loyalty was at 52.3 percent, with Honda following at 49.7 percent and Toyota sliding in third at 47.7 percent. Rounding out the top five for Q2 2011 are Ford in the fourth spot at 45.4 percent, and Subaru in fifth at 44.8 percent.

Automotive shoppers’ loyalty to their respective brands has waned during the past year for the majority of vehicle makes, due to the economic downturn and consumers becoming much more aware of issues such as fuel prices, safety recalls, available vehicle options and additional models within their intended price points.

You mean to tell me that Kia customer loyalty is higher than GM's? Wow.

This is a measure of what people are shopping for online....doesn't even represent sales.

"Maybe because those who drive Hyundais can only afford to buy Hyundais???"

Hey BSBB: No offense but the first two letters in your username are on the money! Lol! Seriously, if you want cheap cars there are many much cheaper (in quality not just price)!

Anyway, my Kia Forte SX and my wifes Hyundai Elantra cost as much as a Chevy Cruze, Toyota Corola, Honda Civic, Ford Focus, VW Jetta, etc..

Stop hating on the South Koreans!

Hey um to that commet "Maybe because those who drive Hyundais can only afford to buy Hyundais" is biased. I'll prove it. The Sonata cost more than the Camry. Oh yeah I have a Forte SX myself. It's just as expensive as the rivals. Besides Suzuki is cheap and Saturn was cheap before it died? Where's there customer loyalty? See how that's biased? Oh don't forget the Genesis ain't cheap yet it is outselling the TL. Now what? I'm jtz, we going to talk about cars lets bring them allllll to the Kitchen Table. Have a nice day. Oh yeah, this is my 4th Kia. I guess I'm part of the reason why Kia's loyalty is greater than Nissan, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suzki, GM, Infinti, Lexus, and Buick huh?

He is referring to the genesis sedan, not the coupe. Who would compare the coupe to a TL sedan. Kinda narrows it down a bit if you use your brain. Its obvious which of the two he is comparing when he referenced the TL as a competitor. It's not rocket science! Hello!

I can't wait until I see the Kia V8 coupe concept in Setember but at the same time I can wait until summer is over with. Summer seems like the shortest season. I'm really enjoyin the 90 and 100 degree weather because this will be over with before you know it then back to the dumb cold wet snow.

Before you disrespect me by calling me a nut, the Genesis is not a Avalon or Maxima rival. Infant the Azera is. So the Genesis is a rival to Lexus, BMW, Audi and BMW. Why don't you realize this at 1987 and Hyundai ain't like it used to be Biased autospies2!!! I'm jtz have a nice day!!!! And yeah I'm going to say my username. What you going to do about it besides give me my negative points?

The Genesis is not a civic coupe competitor by any means. You gotta be smokin crack to compare these two. a turbo 4 cylinder or v6 rear wheel drive sports coupe vs a front wheel drive 2 door economy car? really? I think I am going to do a comparison between a Ford F-250 super duty diesel against a Honda Ridgeline because that is the equivalence of what you just said.

No it is not. The Genesis is a RWD v6 coupe, not a lightweight compact car. It is quite faster than a civic Si. If that were the cast then I guess the FWD deville competes with the 7 series and S class too. Oh wait the Acura MDX competes with Land Rover too huh. the 4 cylinder genesis may produce similar performance but it is a dedicated RWD sports coupe chassis, not a s door version of a 4 door econo box with a screaming small displacement high reving high strung engine mated to a FWD chassis.

What you mean Hertz keep buying Hyundais? You never seen Dodge, Chevy, Honda, ToyotA or Nissans in a rental lot or are you just being biased?

Honda's not on any rental lots? Why did this Accord have an Enterprize sticker at the back then? A Genesis V8 rivaling up against the Civic? Man what's the up coming Elantra coupe for then. Man ur so corny.

Oh no wonder why you so biased your rich so you know thinking about the middle class. Why is a millionaire on here arguing with me. Don't you have better things to do like tricking people out of there money so you can get more Buggattis? I can't believe I got a millionaire upset enough to argue with me. How low can you get?

huu76back, you have a very valid point but what I am saying is that they are 2 very different cars despite pricing. And the Accord may squeak by the "Sega" at a stop light drag race but throw some corners in the mix and the nose heavy accord will fall way behind. And just so you know I am in no way shape or form a Hyundai fan boy or a fan boy of any brand for that matter.

Actually I was talking about the Genesis sedan. And so what if the Accord is faster than the Genesis coupe. Hyundai is more luxrious that's where the K9 comes in. And cant wait to see the V8 coupe. So if the Civic can beat the Genesis good for Huhda but the Elantra outsells the Civic and the Genesis outsells the TL. Oh yeah. And Hyundai's loyalty is grater than Huh-da.

Sega Genesis? Oh let's not go there with the Deceased Sega Saturn brand and all new Sega Sonic. Let's bring all the Segas to the kitchen table.
