"With the new variant, that percentage is expected to be around 50, Michel shared. In addition, he estimated that the average age of the customers buying a Beetle will drop from 58 years old to 36."

My comment: it's nice to dream.

I don't think its that everyone is a winner so much as the fact that not all winners fit a stereotype. This stereotype in your case is as defined by angryinch1's comment. Hell, i know a #&$@ load of losers that drive escalades, bmw's and the like. Some of the best all around people (physically, mentally or socially) drive the most modest and meager whips around. And are those wife beater jersey's ketchup and mustard stained?

If it was rear engine
If it was rwd
If the 270 horse motor was available in the US, yes.

Honestly no, I have not driven a modern RWD Beetle. Where can I gain access?

I'd say I might be interested. However I would want about 220HP with a sport exhaust. Also I would like it an inch or so lower.

I'm male - and I am lusting after this Beetle. It's indeed more masculine and sporty in appearance than the model it replaces.

Just because a few guys here think that this is still a "girl car" doesn't mean that many men will buy this car. I find it silly how cars like the MX-5, SLK, Boxster are labeled as "girl cars" while a BMW Z4 isn't. Reports have indicated that over 60% of consumers buying all those cars I just mentioned are FEMALE. Labeling a particular car as a "girl car" is simply silly.

Perception is reality and each of us have our own perceptions AND insecurities... I do not care for the current Beetle but think this new one may be worth a look- I am a man btw. The likelihood of a purchase is not high but still it is a step in the right direction if VW wants more male buyers.

Dumb corporate decision. They ruined a nice woman's car. Turned a skirt into skort.
