McLaren's MP4-12C To Get Last Minute Changes

Even though most people that drive the all-new McLaren MP4-12C say it is a better ride than the Ferrari 458 Italia, there seems to agreement all in one department. Most reviewers mention at some point that the car's lacking in mojo.

A.K.A. it just doesn't have that same, emotional connection that the Ferrari has.

So, even if it is one of the greatest cars as-is, it still won't win to some drivers. Well, McLaren isn't taking this sitting down and is going to be making some changes to ensure that the McLaren captures everyone's heart.


Talk about sharp responses... McLaren has reacted to input from prospective customers and the press, following initial test drives over the last few months, that the MP4-12C is undoubtedly brilliant, but lacking in emotion...

...A raft of changes have been introduced at the last minute, before first deliveries begin in the next two weeks. Top of the list is a new induction kit for the exhaust, designed to channel more sound into the cabin - directly addressing criticism of the McLaren's muted note next to the more vocal Ferrari 458 Italia. It will be a standard addition to all future production cars...

Most Magazines complained about the traction control system of MP4-12C. TC can't be completely turned off. BTW it is confusing that almost all magazines who pitted Mclaren against the 458 Italia declared 458 the winner and also Ferrari produced the quicker laptime but on Top gear's track Mclaren was almost 3 seconds a lap quicker than Ferrari(Maybe the reason is MP4-12C was developed on top gears track but 3 seconds a lap quicker is a big difference).
