there's no way someone that high up would say something like that in a prearranged interview without having cleared it with the company brass first. This wasn't TMZ catching the guy off guard drunk outside a club, this was a sit down with the NY Times. You can bet your ass everything he said came from Mulally and the Ford family, they just chose this VP as the mouthpiece because they couldn't say it themselves.

no, because he's not getting fired. The VP of Marketing and Communications (translation: the mouthpiece of the company, whose job is to talk to the press) doesn't say things like this on accident. He knew what he was doing.
