Those pictures looks like Porsche has taken the 911 and mold its exterior after the Cayman's, which is a good thing.

I tried to submit an article about this 6 hours before you did. Why didn't it work?

Ok-I'll admit to this. The side sillouette is classic 996/997,especially the C pillar window. I looks to be a bit lower because it is elongated due to the increase in wheelbase.(It looks a little more then 1/2 inch lower. Now you come to the front and rear of the car. It is here that I think for the first time there are clear differences between 996/997 let alone 993.
1st lets look at the rear. You dont notice it as much from the side view. However when you like straight on it is clear that the tail lamps are totally different and sit higher up. Also there more of a kamm tail effect. There is less of that lower elongated tail. From the front there is a picture of the blue car about 3 photos in that looks a little Ferrari Dinoish to me due to the shape of the headlamps and the revised grill. No it's not the same but it's like somebody had plastic surgery yet you can still make out it the same person even though the nose and mouth are slightly different. It could be that clear basket like cladding over the headlamps. However from that 3/4 vantage point you see a little more curve in the front fenders giving it more of a classic 70's Italian look.Compared to the 996/997 it is a clearly different look. I must say I like it and I'm please that Porsche is at least breaking out of the mold partly.

This is how you appear to be a Porsche fan
"Ooooh yeah I can see it clear as day, totally revised rear end it's like a totally different car. They deffinitely broke the mold on this one. Just look at the... c-pillar, front bumper, rear bumper, front and rear lights, rear view mirrors, roof, hood, etc etc etc. totally new"

Ok guilty as charged. Yes I am a Porsche fan and yet I do get frustrated at their inability or refusal to change the 911 enough. But I think with this new version they have changed the front and rear face of the car if not the sillouette. So therefore I think they are finally starting to make a small bit of progress. But bear in mind like Mercedes, like BMW, Like Audi there is always going to be a company DNA. Porsche has decided that has to be all based on the 911.This of course was not always the case.Clearly the 914,924,944,928 did not really have any of the 911 DNA at the time they came to market. But it has been clear since the 1996 intro of the Boxster and then the 99 intro of the 996 that Porsche decided to take a page out of the Mercedes,BMW,Audi etc hand book. As you probably know the 914 and 924 were taken over VW projects(designed and engineered by Porsche) and then sold as Porsche's. When the 968 came along there was evidence that Porsche was starting push this a company identity as it was a feable attempt to either match up with the styling of the 928 or a little 911.

I think it looks worse, even more bland. Like they made it more like a teardrop.

cant see the diference from the old one without pulling out my magnifying glass. Friendship with Audi spoils good design!
