It's About Time! All 2012 BMWs Receive Floors Mats Standard

Although you may think it's a slow news day to report this, it isn't. I think there is just a general sense of enthusiasm amongst BMW owners who are tired of having to pay the extra hundred bucks or so for floormats in a premium product. Granted, most dealers throw them in for free with the car, unless you can't negotiate to save your life.

But yes, it's true. BMW will be making floormats standard in all 2012 model year products. With that extra hundred bucks you can probably put that towards a nice bottle of champagne, as our friends at Bimmerfest suggested down below.

Now add fold down rear seats, metallic paint, and a few more of these type of options, which should be "standard" on all german cars.

Was a passenger in a Renault Scenic the other day.

This vehicle came standard with Keyless Go, Auto Headlights & Wipers, Bluetooth.

Then I found out that almost ALL RENAULTS have these features as standard.

HTF is it that a £18k Renault Megane has these features as standard yet a £31k BMW, Audi or MB does not ?

Yeah, they snuck in price increases for manual transmissions - the same price now as Steptronic (of course they cleverly call the automatic a "no cost option"). That should pay for floormats given BMW still has a higher manual % than the competition.
