Fact Or Fantasy? UAW Touts They Are The Way To End Poverty And Income Disparity

United Auto Workers' President Bob King pitched his vision for a 21st century UAW in a wide-ranging speech that defended unions, called for ways to end poverty and income disparity, and included determination for a more pragmatic, socially responsible approach to working with companies.

The UAW's top leader derided the old, adversarial ways of the past, pledging that this year's contract talks will be characterized by a spirit of collaboration and the acknowledgement that each side is crucial to the companies' long-term survival. King, speaking in Traverse City Wednesday, said the union has made some progress in its effort to organize non-represented workers at transplant factories and is having confidential conversations with those companies.

Communism is another way to end poverty and income disparity.

The UAW represents the greediest, most corrupt and damaging group of individuals in our country. I have some advice for you UAW pigs:

- Learn to get paid a fair wage for the simple job you have
- Stop drinking and doing drugs on the job, in real life, there are concequences for that
- Work harder and develop your skill set and you'll be promoted, if you cant progress, that's fine, but you'll never make more money. That's the end of it, that's reality, stop stealing from me.

I have to disagree with you.

"The UAW represents the greediest, most corrupt and damaging group of individuals in our country"

No that would be the U.S Congress.

UAW and liberal economic justice means "spreading the wealth around" (in the words of our failed President Obama) and making EVERYONE POOR.

If President Obama is making everyone poor, how is it that the richest American citizens and corporations are still recording record profits while the majority of the American people are wondering if they are going to loose their jobs or will be able to afford to make rent?

How does higher personal taxes for "job creators", i.e. richest Americans, mean a decrease in jobs for out of work Americans?

I'm sure there are some top workers in the UAW, but for the most part the Union leadership seems out of touch with reality.

Union leadership remind me of those bums in Washington.

They take what they can using both fists while at the same time screw-over those that put them in office.

I will never again buy a car that is built with union labor.

CARS ARE FUN

"UAW Touts They Are The Way To End Poverty And Income Disparity"

As I recall, that was the promise of the Marxist-Lennonists, which formed the Communist Party. After the rise and fall of the U.S.S.R., the longest-running large-scale political system experiment in history, we have learned two things:
(1) The greatest injustice in Capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth.
(2) The greatest injustice in Communism is the equal distribution of poverty.

Sign me up for #1, and I'll take my chances. Anyone who believes in themselves, and their own abilities, will choose that option.

Wow, that's Fiction. If people stupidly believe that teachers are to blame for some of the States' financial crisis and that their unions should be broken so that the rich few can receive tax breaks to send more jobs overseas, then the UAW is smoking something that I want to get a couple of pounds of before the DEA makes it illegal.
