Audi Promises More High Performance RS Models On the Way

Audi AG will introduce its top-of-the line sports cars in the U.S. from next month to enhance the brand’s image and charge higher prices as it bids to narrow the gap to luxury-car leader Bayerische Motoren Werke AG.

Audi’s 340-horsepower TT RS will go on sale in the U.S. next month, while the 78,000-euro ($111,000) RS 5 coupe, which competes with BMW’s two-door M3, will hit showrooms next year, sales chief Peter Schwarzenbauer said in an interview. Audi has a goal of doubling U.S. sales of high-performance cars to about 16,000 by 2015.

"moron" what are you 10? The RS5 will certainly be thousands more than an M3 (dont kid yourself into thinking otherwise) will it outperform the current soon to be replaced model uh of course not, but hey at least it will look good.........which was clearly more important than competing.....

I'd like to see that boosted I5 engine in more models, say the A3 and Q5?

The only Audi performance car worth buying is the R8 and they better do something to that car soon - it's priced awfully high for the performance it delivers (true for both the V8 and V10). As far as exclusiveness, its pretty much off the charts, but that will take them just so far.

Ahem, the TTRS is actually going to come to the US with the 360hp engine not the 340hp one. The RS5 will be release about the time the M3 will be discontinued to avoid direct comparisons in the marketplace...I guess. It'll be expensive but not anywhere near $111K in the US. Look for it to be priced at parody with the Euro...or...$78000US for those who don't know what parody means.

Thats a tough price point for the RS5 when you could also cross shop for low mileage 2008 turbo 997 or a MkII 2009 997 4S

If it sells for anything near $100K a fool and his money will soon be parted...the minute the front tires hit the street in front of the dealer the car will be worth $20K less.

Audi how about making your car more affordable so that I and many other car fans can actually buy or lease your car. Audi car are way over price and under power versus their competitors.
