Infiniti still thinking of a rebadged Nissan GT-R
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn addressed rumors of an Infiniti-badged GT-R, saying that while there’s no need to build one, it has the capabilities to create it. There is an appeal to the concept of an Infiniti-badged GT-R even if it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Many enthusiasts would want it to bear the GT-R’s lines, scoops, and

The Japanese know best on how to rebadge. Maybe Cadillac should rebadge the Corvette.

The XLR uses the Corvette platform but the engine and suspension are completely different so it's hardly a Vette.

Don't make another copy of the icon, it's like putting down the Nissan GTR and making a nicer version of it as an Infiniti. Either move the Nissan GTR to be an Infiniti or leave it alone, but to have two flavors of the same thing, it will make the Nissan GTR looks cheap compared to the Infiniti version. Just like the G37 and 370Z.

After reading the article there's basically nothing there. It's the same speculation about an Infiniti GTR that people were talking about 4 years ago. Nothing new.

I'm for it! At least a newer, smoother design, both in nad out. keep the provocative one to Nissan for 'tradition'.

I don't seem why not because VW had the Lambo Gallardo and Audi R8 using the same V10 engine but detune the one on the Audi R8 a little bit. And what about the Ferrari F430 and the Maserati Gran Turismo using the same engine but Ferrari F430 got more horsepower and gear toward more performance oriented versus luxury ride.

Nissan, I said go for it.

I never understood why it wasn't an Infiniti in the first place. It would make Infiniti's performance image more credible being able to beat other luxury performance models and make it's 90k price tag easier to swallow for Americans. When you look at Japan vs American models the skyline in Japan is the G37, the skyline coupe is the G37 coupe and the skyline crossover is the EX35. Now when they get to the one that matters and cost the most they don't rebadge it? I don't understand the thought process. I pay 90k to get treated like someone who bought a versa. No loaner car! I have a nearly 10 year old Infiniti and I can get a loaner while they can't. How silly can you be.

Except it would cost more than 90K. Nissan would have to put some luxury touches in there.

It should have never been a nissan in the first place. Only reason a lot of luxury buyers avoided it. Infiniti should have released it and then built a "mini" Nissan model.
