Ford Planning Limited Production 380HP FWD Focus
The next Ford Focus RS will get more than 350bhp and retain its front-wheel-drive layout, according to reports.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Gunnar Herrmann, head of Ford's global C-segment platform, said the third iteration of the Essex barnstormer was already in the works and would feature more power than ever before.

This is what American needs, but that's too much power for FWD. It needs to be AWD

my thoughts exactly that is way too much power for FWD, you couldn't buy traction with stats like that.

The torgue-steer will keep you puckered to the seat. This car would get much more respect with AWD.

A mugen doesnt have 380hp or a turbo on it. No amount of diff technology with stop torque steer.

Ive driven my fare share of high hp fwd cars and you can try torque vectoring and all the other goodies you want but you can't change the laws of physics. Let alone trying to hard brake at high speed with fwd.

It's possible to get rid of torque steer with suspension geometry alone, I don't know why you think it's such an insurmountable hurdle veyron1001.

Yeah but the first time you power out of a corner the car will want to go straight because of all of that power. Great looking car and I am sure it will go like a bat out of hell, but will it still be a balanced package with all of that power going through the front wheels. Honda's do so well because they are low torque high hp high reving engines so you really don't have to worry much about torque steer.

The power is great, but too bad it can't use the power to the fullest because some guy thinks he knows the dna of these types of cars, lol, it definitely needs all wheel drive or rear wheel drive at least, preferably all wheel drive, and this car looks great.

380hp to the front wheels wouldn't be that bad once you're up to speed. However, before you get to 3rd gear common logic dictates that you feather the throttle. I'm not too sure I'd want to race with the car though, stepping on the gas coming out of the corner would result in plowing the second half of every corner with ridiculous amounts of power on understeer.

Exactly Joe, I feel the same way.

The thing is the car plainly won't be as good without AWD. IF they were to make both and race them they would look like two completely different cars. Off the line there wouldn't even be any competition and around the track the FWD would just be falling behind. I have a FWD car that gets 250 and have to be careful I couldn't imagine a car with 380 thats just ridiculous. The car would be much better off with AWD plain and simple.
