Where Has The All-New Chrysler 300C Gone?

Where Has The All-New Chrysler 300C Gone?
Over a recent conversation with Agent 001, discussing the automotive industry, a question popped up:

001: "How many NEW Chrysler 300s have you seen?"

00R: "One. [two including the one I saw JUST today]"

001: "I actually haven't seen any."

This brings up a good point. Chrysler made a big splash with the 200 in its award-winning commercial, but in the New York tri-state area I have only seen two 300s and in SoCal, 001 hasn't run across a single NEW 300. At least with the 200 I have been able to spot more than a handful of those roaming my neck of the woods.

Where are they all? Do the Spies know where they are all hiding? Have you seen any new Chrysler 300s or any NEW Chrysler products?

According to last month's sales Chrysler sold more than 2,400 of them and in 2011 it has sold just over 16,000 units -- although that may take into consideration the last generation model.

What gives?

New Chargers I see everywhere, new 200's I see everywhere. New 300? I don't see them as much as I thought I would but when I do see them, they are still head turners. They all have been V6's though. So I guess the question stands. Where has the new 300"C" gone? My friend just traded his old 300C for the new Charger. Guess the Charger is more popular this time around. Anyhow, I don't quite believe you see so few in an area like NY. If I see about one new 300 a day in Chicago, I know you see more in NY or SoCal. I'm even surprised at how often I see an Equus since they debuted. (thats another story)

I disagree with this statment. I have seen a few 300Cs in the NY/NJ area. And even more 300s. Perhaps the gas milage of the C is causing less to be seen (not too suprising). Overall, I would say the redesign is a bit more conservative for the times compared to the original that really stood out at the time.

that doesn't make any sense. How can you see more 300s which have been out for a few months than 300c's which have been selling for years. I have not seen one and usually Florida is one of there big targets because to get anywhere down here you have to drive.(specifically FT Lauderdale)

Do a little research gentlemen. You will find that these models are new from the chassis redesign, pen V6, body panels, interior etc. Pay attention and get up to speed!!

I have seen quite a few here in SoCal. One of my sources was telling me that once Chrysler showed the ZF 8speed on the order form that most were willing to wait, so Chrysler temp took the ZF off in order to sell what was on the lot. Once the ZF is available these will sell well. There talking 33 mpg with the PenV6.

I test drove a new 300C and passed on it. My neighbor bought a white 300C, but he has been been loyal to Chrysler over the years. He surprised everyone and bought a used Cadillac SRX. Other than that I've seen more Chargers than 300s.

The new 300 isn't completely missing, I see maybe one or two a week. But the Charger and 200 are everywhere.

People have moved to the others car that are domestic and have a bold styling statement. The new 300C is not it. It lacks that "have to have it right now" factor. Decent domestic car and it has evolved like it was expected to. And that may be the problem. It lacks something. Probably a boldness which was in the first one and very difficult to repeat in the the second generation. It may heat the sales chart later after people get used to the new look. Everything does not have to be "#1 at the boxoffice" when it comes out and then if it is not then ask the question "what is wrong with the 300C".

Agreed. The update is pretty good but it's no longer the styling statement it was at first.

does it make sense to lease a 300c now or wait.. anyone have an opinion?

I'm seeing them on the road in the South, Ga to be specific. Drove a loaded 300C last weekend, I am amazed at the leap in quality and performance of the new model. I would challenge anyone to honestly say they don't see a huge difference. I also drove a new Equus a day later, also spectacular, however both rear wheel drive V8's, the three hundred for 17,000 less is an interesting thought.

*retraction*(to the first part of comment) I miss understood I was under the impression the C referred to previous generation. obviously that is not the case.

C refers to the smaller V8. The bigger V8 holds the SRT8 badge. All V6s are known as 300s.

I'm in Scottsdale and I've seen a few. Actually I've seen less 200's though I saw a 200 Convertible on the way to work this morning. The front and rear tweaks really make the convertible look a LOT better. The 4 door is saddled with that crappy roofline, but still looks a little better with the new look. I hear the interiors are really nice.
