2013 Bmw 7-Series Facelift: what to expect!
Most modifications to BMW’s facelifted 7-Series, which is expected to debut next year, will be on its performance. It’s expected to go up against the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The exterior will receive minimal changes, including the use of new LED accents. It will get restyled bumpers, front and back,

The big news are updated engines:

"The 740i will be powered by the twin-turbocharged engine, which could be boosted to deliver about 350 hp. Meanwhile, the 750i is expected to achieve about 450hp from a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine that makes use of BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology with two turbochargers and high-precision direct injection."

They need to do a TOTAL REDESIGN to compete with the new S-Class

Probably won't matter much when the 2013 6 series GT sedan comes anyway.

Are they really increasing the power on the 740? With 0-60 in 5.1 seconds I don't think the current 740 is hurting for power. Performance is miles ahead of the base S-class and right in line with the A8 and base XJ. I'd rather see them switch over to the N55 engine -- the new N55-equipped 640 and 335 performance package produce the same exact output as the N54 in the 740, but get better fuel economy. Then give the 750 the 440hp/480lb-ft tune that the 7-Series hybrid already uses, and put the 8-speed automatic in across the lineup. That's really all that needs to be done to the drivetrain, none of which cost BMW anything in terms of extra development since they're all engines and transmissions already in use. On the outside, just add the LED halos the new 5-Series and LCI X5 got. Easiest LCI ever. While they're at it, make those tuning changes to the 535 and 550 too. Again it costs nothing, and those already have the 8-speed.

Expected updates:

1. Engine updates to better compete with Mercedes 430BHP 4.7 TT engines.
2. Revised front and rear bumpers
3. More LEDs
4. Turn signals will move from the traditional location (front fenders) to the side mirrors as seen on new 1 series.

I would also like to to see restyled tail lamps and headlamps. Current headlights are very ordinary and small compare to the huge grille and tail lights are too curvy.
