Oh god I hope they aren't. Apple's genius was in its marketing campaigns. They managed to sell untold millions of average quality goods with the perception of high quality, at high quality prices due to it. Heck, they even got the try to be different from everyone else crowd to purchase products that are virtually identical to each other.

Chevy, stick to your product, you don't need to brainwash people into buying your cars.

"Apple's genius is innovation and creation. Watch as every company scrambles to copy Apple's latest every time something new comes out. And Apple products most definitely use higher quality materials and components."

So true.

Talking about Apple, they used to be higher quality until they started making them in China, A friend of mine is a dr in computer science he hates Microsoft, like most computer nerds, lol, But you have to commend Chevy for setting there goals high, and I hope that they don't think that they can do this with a good media spin, lets hope it is because they make the best vehicles, love them or hate any competition that desires this, it only sets the bar higher, and that is good for us the consumer.

what on earth did they innovate with? mp3 players were around before them, smart phones came before the iphone, tablets with actual operating systems that allow you to run programs and not just silly java style apps also came out before ipad.

Quality? Yeah they sure have quality packaging, second to none, those apple cases are amazing. To bad that's where the quality ends. An ipod may be able to store one or two months of non-stop music, too bad it'll never last long enough for you to actually listen through all of it!

Bashing Apple is like trying to bash Steve Jobs' other venture, Pixar. If so many people, including consumers, legions of die-hard fans, and investors have made them an unarguable success hit after hit, then why bash? Is someone here who is commenting so smart that he/she really has an idea of how Apple could be doing something better, an idea that Apple hasn't thought of before?

Apple's products are designed to market themselves -- in other words, just use ads to show people the product the way it really exists, show them the product performing in real time with some common capabilities and the people will come. Do I see Chevy doing that anytime soon? Maybe with the Corvette.

agentmoneypenny, your rant is a little out of place. Are you trying to say that it's ok to follow in Toyota's footsteps as a government motor identity because they already are?

They should have had the production down before the marketing. There are no Volts around.Pontiac did the same thing with the Solstice.People get tired of waiting and lose interest.

Apple is Apple because of great marketing that created a lifestyle that people aspire to recreate in their own lives.

In the simplest of terms: Chevy will never be as cool or aspirational as Apple. Chevy may have an amazing return to favor, but Apple they will not!

In *my* opinion, Apple excels at attractive design and elegance (I'll leave the "quality" debate for folks who remember/forget laptops without a hatch to access the replaceable battery, iPods with a useful battery life of 18 months and no user-replacement, and other such...um...features).

I can't think of GM as producing gorgeous or elegant vehicles. The Corvette is arguably their exception, with "pretty good" exterior styling (thought its performance numbers are solid). People don't typically stop and stare at a GM product while thinking "gorgeous".

So if you want Apple's brand strength and mind-share, you have a tough battle ahead, GM.

Oh GM is trying to be like Apple??? Great, so Im assuming that means they are going to attempt to patent every seperate piece of its vehicles so that they way they can sue everyone that makes cars that it competes with to attempt to monopolize the market. Sure, as long as they have enough money and government patent connections they could be Apple.

I think GM should be applying this mantra to Caddy, not Chevrolet.
Good packaging, good internals, a great image and expensive.
