Next Mercedes-Benz E-Class-Cross between the current CLS and Lexus GS-Series

Next Mercedes-Benz E-Class-Cross between the current CLS and Lexus GS-Series
Our spies in Germany (Or should we say Spione's)are telling us the next E-Class will look like a cross between the current CLS and the new Lexus GS-Series.

Look for a lower roofline, a more sleek body and GS style headlights.

It looks better than the GS

I agree, looks better than the GS. If the final design looks like that, it'll be up there with the two hottest Benz's (not to mention 2 of the hottest cars on the road)...The CLS & SL.

The current model has just been facelifted, I dont think they have the next generation E-class made yet

As much as I like the Lexus GS, I believe this idea for the E-Class is much better. If i'm not mistakened MB was first to out with the 4 headlight front end design. If I am wrong, then MB knows how to make it better. Great design if it comes through.

Carnut: facelift doesn't mean new generation.

This looks great with the CLS influence. I agree, in keeping with the current and previous generation E, the headlights are a progression forward. If they were single units, they could resemble the S too much.

front looks bad, but the middle seems to look alright

Interesting how people are conceding that MB may be copying the GS, but they are just doing a better job of it, LOL. I could care less either way, but there's always a firestorm of criticism when Lexus copies a Euro design, with very little discussion as to whether it's a better copy - the fact that it's copied is an insult.

MB has now made 2 concessions to design: copy the BMW 7 series butt and copy the current GS front lighting style. Is there anything wrong with that? Absolutely not.

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. The Japanese car industry has done it for years and with great success. Nothing wrong with that at all.

If the next E class is going to have a stance this attractive - then is there a need in the portfolio for the CLS?

Does look like the lexus, but there is most likely going to be a significant difference between this and the final version. I don't think MB is looking forward to copying lexus.

I don't believe this story but I do like the design. Yeah, I would say that those are definitely Lexus GS headlights. Then again, MB used bubble lights on the old E-Class so I wouldn't say that they stole the design from Lexus. They merely added to what they already had. Now, I don't really see the CLS resemblance. Can you all imagine a Long body E-class. I think that would add to the overall look of this model in particular.

I saw a better rendering with the New S class's proportion in the front and the lights looked more agressive than this. The overall shape and bumper looks more modern, but the lights gotta change, give it more of a sharp curve rather than the box-edgy. Also it would be nice if the front end is more sculpted and emphasiszed at the grill's buldge. The e class has always been known for its classic front design, so why change it. All they need is more sportiness/aggressiveness along with its classic design language.

That right Merc copy lexus because they r doing u job better than u. They have better styling, interior and are more reliable
----------------------

Can you say that in English speak?

So let me get this straight. If you think like the way you write, according to you, if Mercedes' copy Lexus' styling, their cars will automatically be more reliable?

Ladies and gentleman, we have a genius amongst us...
