2012 Toyota Camry Interior Shot Leaks Out - Are You Impressed Or Depressed?
Toyota has used the past few days to tease us by slowly revealing its new (2012) Camry sedan. Fortunately, there are somethings that are just beyond the Japanese automaker’s control. Just recently, we got a fairly good look at its exterior styling (but nothing on the interior) courtesy of some very good spy shots. This time around, we have a brochure of the Japanese version of the Camry snapped for our viewing pleasure, thus throwing a fat wrench in Toyota’s meticulous reveal. The brochure revealed the ever-elusive interior of the new Camry (in hybrid trim), in addition to revealing more angles of its exterior.

Very impressive interior. A big step forward compare to current Camry's interior.

Audi moot? No way. Audi still makes a better interior. This does seem improved. Too bad the exterior looks like a bloated Corolla.

It looks better than the exterior design. Pretty nice except for the game boy controls on the steering wheel. I just want an affordable car to drive. Thought they could have done better with the front-end.

Very nice, but the exterior is not as nice. It does look like a Corolla.

More and more, interiors are getting to all look the same. No personality that defines the vehicle. Take the brand emblem off the steering wheel and most won't even know what there driving. One has to buy a car in the 70K and above to get something cool looking. What ever happened to COOL cars? not exotic,, COOL! Nothing against this interior but where is the personality.

This is a Camry, they're not allowed to be cool or have personality.

This looks like an interior taken straight out of the JDM Crown Majesta (or other JDM cars) from ten years ago. It looks great in terms of materials but it's hardly ground-breaking in terms of design.

THis interior shot looks better thanthe ones posted in the last few days. I woulnd't call it stellar but this isn't that bad. Also, i've read people saying that the Toyota is for the anit car enthusiast and what not. That is further from the truth. I have more than one car. My Camry is my daily driver, but I also have a 2011 E550 Convertible and am giving major consideration to a 911. I can't usually show up to a clients house in the Mercedes asking for $$$. The Camry on the other hand says exactly what I need it to say.

I always thought the interior on the Camry has been nice since the 2007 version. I think the 07 Camry's exterior looked more aggressive in the face. More serious or angry. I did like that 07's Camry's front end. The round face. But lets not forget one thing the Camry never was a head turner. It didn't become America's best seller by design. It took quailty and hard work. That's why I have to respect the Camry. The Camry is the most caparable car to anything. For example, Ford Fusion, Accord and Malibu compare their cars to the Camry when advertised. The Sonata and Optima and Mazda 6 compare their cars to the Camry. Every midsize car sold in the states compares to the Carmy. Therefore, why should Toyota have to worry about designs. Because the bottom line is the Camry will sale like hotcakes. Oh yeah and I still hate Toyota. But the Camry is a good car. However I expect more performance in the Camry too.

this is NOT the US camry interior. This is the interior for the Asian Camry, which has always looked more upscale.
This is the US bound camry interior

Honestly I held off my comments about the interior above because "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". After you showed that other pic, I must comment.
I knew that interior above looked a little "home market" to me. That pic that's the official interior though, is even worse. Reliablity over everything, I guess...

Rented a Corolla last week which had the same gated shi(f)t pattern.
It's completely stupid.

"People are just mad because Toyota refuses to sell cars at Korean prices, which what every cheapass N.American Walmart lover truly desires.
These people will just have to wait an extra year before they can get their hands on the knock-off version."
Ignoring that Suzuki, Mitsubishi is also at or around Korean prices and the Camry's base price is cheaper than the Sonata's now.

It looks neither good nor bad. It's evolutionary and will be contemporary in two - three years as the competition upgrades the quality of their interiors as well.
I will say that the steering wheel button design could use another once over. It's not that the design is bad, but maybe Toyota should focus on helping their customers become better drivers instead of packing a steering wheel with more distractions; i.e. entertainment center navigation controls on the left horizontal spoke.
The last thing I want is for a driver to be more concerned about finding his/her favorite track on their attached ipod than focusing on driving the car safely.

I think it's ironic how you mentioned 'distraction'. I don't think it has anything to do with the car itself that makes some people bad drivers. A really good example of this is the BMW iDrive system. By far it's the worst.

"That's interesting, what country are you referring to?"
The real question isn't what country I'm referring to but which state. First find out what state I'm in (like I'm gonna tell you) then compare the Camry and Sonata's prices then come and find me. I'm jtz have a nice day.

Oh yeah as for the Genesis. Acutally to let you know. I'm Genesis. Not by long shot. Come talk to me when the Kia K9 arrives and then compare that to whatever. I don't give a rats a** about the Genesis.

Correction: I don't like the Genesis. So you can get that "everytime you reply to me add the Genesis in your commets" thing out. It doesn't move me. I"m waiting for the K9. When it debuts and sales are available then come talk to me.
As for the Genesis coupe. I hope they do ax it out....... just like the Sky, Soltice and Crossfire because they couldn't get they job done neither. Let's bring all the failed coupes to the kitchen table. But only bring the Genesis coupe to the kitchen table because it's Korean ignoring that the Mercury couger and Lexus SC failed too.

"As an aside, those are some nice Lexus/Acura parallelogram exhaust pipes Hyundai gave the 2012 Genesis. Another Korean design innovation."
I can list 150 cars right now with parallelogram exhaust pipes from Acuras to Volvoos. But you only see Hyundai as the copy, Ignoring the rest.
