SPIED: The 2012 Honda CR-V Is Unwrapped Before Its Big Debut
If you were to ask me which vehicle right now I would never be caught dead in, it would have to be the Honda CR-V. That's because it's design is so incredibly poor, in my eyes it's right up there with the Aztec. Yeah, I said it.

But I will admit, when I saw the CR-V Concept photos recently come out, I was pleasantly surprised. For once, Honda didn't build an incredibly geeky looking or badly designed CR-V. The concept looked downright awesome and as though it could be very class competitive, granted, I don't think the CR-V owner base cares about style or looking cool.

Anyhow, thanks to China Car Times, we've got some images of the production version. I am not quite sure of the circumstances, but it's pretty clear someone with some serious brass just walked up to the car, pulled off the cover and snapped away.

Even better, the photographer got inside, somehow. Was it an inside job? Who knows.

Though these may not be the very best representation of the upcoming CR-V, it's definitely become a bit more compelling in the hotly contested compact sport-utility vehicle market.

In addition, if this is any indication of designs coming from Honda in the near future, it appears that it may have gotten its act together, finally.

This does not look bad, just evolutionary. People forget to think that with all of the negative backlash Honda has received over Acura's beak, they are probably very hesitant to radically alter the styling of their bread & butter vehicles. Honda's last daring design choice was the previous generation Civic before the recent refresh.

CRV is the car you get as your "first" as a young couple looking forward to your first kid. It's versatile, family friendly and will last for a while.

A guy drove a pretty good distance to buy a large item I had for sale on Craigslist. He arrived in a current-gen CR-V, and needless to say, the item wouldn't fit because of the CR-V's sloped rear roof. I laughed as I sent him on his way, and made sure to mention that I'd hauled the item home in a Dodge Caravan. lol.
