General Motors sold 24,648 units of the Chevrolet Cruze in July, making it the top-selling U.S. compact for that month. It did better than the Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra and Ford Focus. It's actually cheaper than the Corolla and way cheaper than the Prius, so why is anyone surprised. At this point in the market, the Corolla makes no financial sense and it is hard to believe Toyota cannot address that problem.

STEALING???

There aren't enough Prii to go around right now (or Corollas for that matter). So these numbers are skewed SEVERELY!!!
It's a shame there isn't enough common sense to go around either!

And I'm sure this guy had a gen I Prius.

Don't get me wrong, congrats to GM for their success with this vehicle.
I've seen the Cruze, with its pumped hwy mpg numbers. I've also seen its 22 mpg city rating. Not so top notch. Overall average is on par with a Corolla. Nowhere near a gen II Prius, let alone gen III.

Of coarse it's cheaper g2ok! It's made by GM!

Toyota is in the works of making this new car that runs on ass gas. 200-250 mpf (miles per fart). Can give you upto 300 miles per queef.

What are you talking about? The Cruze was nearly 4 years old before it reached the US shores.

I have given up expecting good automotive journalism, but this is one of the worst. One person traded a Prius for a cheap compact car and it turned into this story? Ugh.

The media is always looking for a chance to put Toyota in a bad light these days. Call it protectionism, but there has been an anti-Toyota bias in the press since the recalls. Toyota has yet to address this, and thus we get ridiculous stories like this.
