LEAKED! STUD or DUD - Is Ferrari's 458 Italia Spider MORE Enticing Than The Coupe?
The Ferrari 458 Italia has been revered since its debut. It's been considered monumentally better than the 430 in just about every way.
Better to drive, better to look at and it's got better power.
But will it be a better convertible?
What say you, Spies?
Carscoop reports:
The first set of pictures of the
Frankfurt Motor Show-bound
Ferrari 458 Italia Spider have dripped out on the open thanks to the folks over at the
Cheers & Gears
fan site.
Information remains scarce for now, but
sources suggest
that there's a retractable hardtop hiding under the dual pod behind the passenger area, and not a traditional cloth top as previously thought...
Cheers and Gears reports:
While there have been a few illustrations floating around out there, the first
official
photos of the 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider showed up in our inbox today. Set to debut in September's Frankfurt Auto Show, the 458 Spider will share the same mechanicals as its coupe counterpart packing the same 570 horsepower and 400 lb-ft 4.5 liter V8. The retractable hard top and extra chassis strengthening will add weight and likely lower the overall performance compared to its coupe sibling. European deliveries begin in September 2011 with U.S. deliveries starting in early 2012.
