Lexus is nowhere near the top in global luxury sales. It is only an aparition in the US where people are more likely to fall for overhyped marketing.

"It was, for the past decade...in the country that has sold the MOST luxury sedans worldwide. "

- You make it sound like the U.S is the only country that matters. Just to let you know, they’re other countries that exist on the planet. Most are on their way up while the U.S is on its way down.

Why don't we look at some brand sales numbers

Lexus doesn't like to publish global numbers but they sell a bit over 300k autos a year globally - about 80% of their autos are sold in the US

BMW is no.1 globally likely to sell 1.4-1.5 million autos this year. US is under 20% of their sales

Audi is no. 2 globally likely to sell 1.3-1.4 million autos - US is just under 10% of their total sales

Mercedes is likely to sell 1.2-1.3 million autos this year.. The US is approx. 20% of their sales
