UAW Reminds Membership That Striking Is ALWAYS An Option To Gain Ground

Ford auto worker Gary Walkowicz says he heard something at a recent meeting of UAW leadership in Chicago that gave him pause.

UAW negotiations with Ford were going so well that people in the union discussed whether a strike-authorization vote was even necessary, says Walkowicz, quoting UAW President Bob King.

Unless we make it very clear to the companies that we are ready to strike, then the companies have no reason to give us back the concessions they have taken from us," Walkowicz says in a letter to Ford rank and file.

I say fire them and hire people who aren't fortunate enough to have a $25-$35 /hr job. I'd gladly quit my job in the oilfield roughing it in the 100+ degree heat swinging sledge hammers, rigging up iron and running equipment on a location made of rocks with no shade and all kinds of heat generated from all of the engines. They should have to try doing what I do before their pansy a$$es start whining. un-appreciative a$$soles like that need to lose their job and their job needs to be given to someone who will appreciate all of that money they make without griping.

They wouldn't last two hours doing what I do in the oilfield. I sometimes go days without sleep and work non-stop in the heat with occasional water breaks. Often throughout the entire day into the night through the next morning.

If we tried that crap in the oilfield we'd be sent to the house (fired) and they'd have replacements the next morning.

Sure "striking is always an option". And I'd love to put a firecracker in those funny cigaretts they all like to smoke. What a bunch of FOOLS!!

And your UAW membership continues to delcine too. Auto companies are getting wiser to your union members (bad) habits (e.g smoking & drinking on lunches)

Yes, and while the UAW goes on strike, the rest of the country can go on strike and refuse to buy vehicles "built" by overpriced UAW labor.
