UAW Backing Away From Talk That Agreements Are Close

UAW President Bob King today downplayed expectations that a tentative agreement with GM, Ford and Chrysler will be reached by the Sept. 14 expiration of the current contract.

“Nobody knows when we will complete,” contract negotiations “and how quickly,” King told journalists today after a speech for the Detroit Economic Club in Detroit.

Good, now that the UAW has proven that it hasn't changed and has given some space. Hire in some temp workers to fill the spots, you'll help those out of work while replacing them with people who deserve to be out of work.

Hard to believe that they are willing to kill the taxpayer bailed out and funded goose that lays the golden eggs for them so soon after they killed the previous goose that laid the golden egg..
These people really are suicidal.
Either that or they really do just want to destroy what's left of American manufacturing..

America's foreign policy has destroyed American manufacturing. Read "The Fall of the U.S. Consumer Electronics Industry" by Phillp Curtis, former general council to Zenith Radio Corporation.

Dumping, subsidies, patent infringement, all ignored so the US could maintain bases in Japan during the Vietnam war. It continues today.

Labor is less than 10% of the cost on a $20,000 vehicle.
