SPIED: NEW Video Of BMW's Next-Gen 3-Series Shows Its Exterior And Interior
As we get closer to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, new video footage and press images hit the 'net. The latest video of what BMW is likely bringing to the event, the next-generation 3-Series, captures the car's exterior and interior while testing in Spain.

Stay tuned to the latest information about the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show right here on AutoSpies.com...

This is the 2012 BMW 3 Series (F30) sedan. The video contains both exterior and interior footage of the new 3 Series. The car in question is a diesel, has a start/stop system and is limited to 210 kph (130 mph) for test purposes.

The day this video was shot, BMW also tested the 3 Series while pulling a trailer (see the beginning of the video).

Like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Citroën and SsangYong were testing their newest cars in the Sierra Nevada (Spain) that day. This video also contains a test version of the Aston Martin DBS (evolution rather than revolution?) and two uncamouflaged Citroëns DS5.

At the IAA in Frankfurt (September), BMW will probably reveal its newest model...

Already seen the design from the leaked pictures, it looks like 85% scale model of 5 series. Not a bad thing as IMO 5 series is one of the best looking sedan. New 3 series also appears quite bigger than current model and interior is also similar to 5 series.
New 3 may steal some 5 series sales.

Sadly that's what it looks like. After watching this video I'm having a really hard time believing this is the 3 series. The nav screen placement was absolutely terrible - like some random protrusion popping up from the dash.

Full disclaimer: I own a BMW 335i so it's safe to say I'm a fan of the 3 series. It would take a lot of ugly to make me disapprove of BMW's new direction, but they accomplished it.

No need for the camouflage. Nothing new or exciting here that hasn't been seen before! Same old, dull BMW design.

No one else is asking the question so I'm clearly the only one "out of the loop", but what's with the "Ready, Off" gauge on the instrument cluster? If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with a hybrid version or some sort of "Stop, Start" technology they're implementing.

I'm praying this isn't the new 3 series interior, but some deviation of the current 1 series. I guess it's also possible that this is some sort of "false" interior so the real thing doesn't leak. Maybe this is a test mule specifically created to gauge engine and exhaust performance so there was no reason to implement the real interior.
