Five NASCAR Drivers Snub President Obama's White House Invitation

President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on Wednesday – but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders won't be there.

NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers – Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart – will not be attending the White House visit due to "schedule conflicts."

This is not automotive news.

Can't really blame them. Jimmy Johnson is the champ. The rest are not.
It's like inviting Aaron Rogers and a bunch of the quarterbacks from the teams he beat.

ONLY 5??? I can't see why ANYONE would accept.

Obama's only genuine concern is staying in power (not going to happen) and livin' large, burning as much of our hard-earned dollars as he can. His arrogance is just a cover for his laziness. It will take years to undo his stupidity. A pure f'in joke. Even worse than that clown (being generous) Jimmy Carter.

Anyway, hats off to those with the "schedule conflicts".

You seem to forget about someone named George Bush. America is still feeling the Bush effect. This is too funny.

BillfromBuckhead,

Your last comment: "Did you ever think the reason we ended up with a black president was because the last white one was so horrible?" sounds so racist. Funny, I thought liberal and Democrats can't be racists?(sarcasm) By that logic, if George Bush was a good president, Barack Obama would never have had a chance at becoming the president due to his skin color. He only became president, because the last "white" president was so bad that we had to give a black man a chance. It sounds so hypocritical of some liberals or some Democrats. I'm not a Bush or Obama fan. I'm a common sense man who hopes the next president, whether it is a new one voted in 2012 or 2016, will make America better than the last two.

"try to post relevant news that has something to do with cars".
NASCAR doesn't have anything to do with cars? Really? The fact that the post also includes a political component doesn't make it irrelevant. Autospies posts a variety of auto related articles. Some may appeal to your interests and others may not. I'd suggest reading the posts that interest you and skipping past those that don't. Oh, and if the votes are any indication, I'd say more people agree with 009 on this matter.
