Ferrari STILL The King Italian Stallion? Or Has Lamborghini Made It Become Your Father''s Supercar?

Ferrari STILL The King Italian Stallion? Or Has Lamborghini Made It Become Your Father''s Supercar?
When you buy an Italian supercar, specifically a Ferrari, you're buying a bunch of things.

With Ferrari you're buying into plenty of heritage, sensual bodywork and cars filled with plenty of racing technology is what you get.

Lamborghini, on the other hand, is taking a bit of a different stance though. As you can see with its latest product, the LP700-4 "Aventador," you're essentially buying the closest thing to a jet. Some say that's what supercars are all about, others think its obnoxious.

With that said, it always seems that Lamborghini rolls out its latest models just behind Ferrari. And because there is no snobish dealers to do business with, you can actually get a hold of a Lamborghini without the hassle of "the Ferrari community."

Obviously, this has led to a fiercely competitive exotic car market with Ferrari's design speaking to where it came from while Lamborghini is a more contemporary take.

Taking that into consideration, has Ferrari "lost it" while Lamborghini is becoming the new standard?

For those who know what came before it will always be a Ferrari...for those who think if it didn't happen in their lifetime it doesn't count, I feel sorry for you...for all others who enjoy a real machine and have the means, take your pick and be thankful you can !

The Lexus LF-A is better than both the Ferrari 458 and the Lamborghini Aventador.

Ferrari still have the prestige and handling advantage over Lamborghini. You could argue that Ferrari still holds a distinct styling advantage over Lamborghini as well.

I agree Ferraris are in a class of their own. I havent seen a truly origainal lambo since the 80's.

Both great cars, I would be extremely happy with either of them. I am new to the board and enjoy some of the open minded comments but what is up with this guy, LexSucks? Are you the biggest hater? Dude I also like the LFA but we all know that it will never have the status/pedigree of the other cars. Awesome car but it will go down in history like the Acura NSX did.

Lambo---made for the Roads. Great striking design, loud exhausts, big engines, unique doors(lambo doors)...etc.

Ferrari---made for the track. Great handling cars, the Formula 1 connection, cars loaded with advanced technologies mostly which are developed in F1, the Ferrari badge and the history/achievements.

Depends on the type of person you are? I always felt Ferrari owners are part of an exclusive club while the Lambo owner is a staunch individualist that doesn't strictly care about on-track laptime or F-1 technology. That said, my F-1 fanatism aside, those scissor doors are way cool =)

If you read History , Enzo was no able to do a car able to satisfy Ferruccio Lamborghini, So He decide to create his owns cars. At the end, that helps to bring us a totally new brand. Ferrari is Great but also Lamborghini. Since the Countach, there is no Ferrari with that presence, then Diablo, Mucielago and Reventon and finaly Aventador, all of them great looking cars with unsurpassed presence. Ferrari in the other side is great in style from the 328 till the 458 all are great, but in super-cars , IMO they have no car to face the Aventador right now.

Thank you for stating the obvious. Ferrari has lost its crown and now it resides on the 'other' Italian supercar maker: Lamborghini.

The Aventador is pure sex, excitement and speed on 4 wheels.
Lambo provides a combination of over the top gorgeous Italian dynamic design with state of the art mechanicals.
Ferrari designs are too angular and each model is repetitive. The flair and originality of Ferrari is gone. Lamborghini now is building dreams you can actually order and receive without the nonsense and games that Ferarri plays.

Make mine a Lambo Aventador!
