Iron Man Tony Stark Ditches Audi For New Acura Concept In 'The Avengers'
In his own Iron Man movies, Tony Stark, played by actor Robert Downey Jr., chose to get around in an Audi R8 for the first movie and then upgraded to an Audi R8 V10 Spyder for the sequel.

However, in the new The Avengers movie opening next spring, Stark has swapped the Audis for a brand new Acura convertible concept, images of which have been taken during filming on location in Manhattan, New York.

There’s a very good reason for this.

Movie sponsorship deals notwithstanding, Stark and his fellow superhero companions starring in The Avengers have been called together by the government agency S.H.I.E.L.D. And S.H.I.E.L.D agents, who first appeared in the recent Thor movie, all drive Acuras.

According to Acura, the concept was created for the movie only, though the automaker is looking at the development of a new sports car, possibly as a successor to the previous NSX.

That's a hot looking car! Hopefully it goes in production, I'd like to see it on the road.

what planet do you live Mercedes are not reliable and neither are there Smart cars. It doesnt take alot of money to design good looking cars there are plenty of good looking cars that arent high priced. Just like there are plenty of boring, overly traditional, still stuck in the past, overchromed, unreliable cars that cost alot of money.....

Hilarious comment by Gambit. Crappy design cost just as much as great design. Wait, bad designs cost MORE as customers leave the brand.

Yep. Acura has a long history of making AWD racing cars. Not!

I'm pretty sure Audi currently has no awd race cars, and if so it appears to have no influence on road cars, b/c SH-AWD is just as good if not better.

Maybe not a long history racing AWD but guess who is taking a page out of the Acura AWD game plan? Pretty much everyone...including Audi and BMW.
