2009 Buick Roadmaster & 2010 Roadmaster Coupe

The next generation Lucerne is currently under development by Buick. In our proposal, it will be getting a name change, to Roadmaster. Based on the Zeta RWD platform and built at the Oshawa plant in Ontario, Canada, the Roadmaster features the emotional styling language displayed on the Enclave luxury crossover, first introduced as a concept in January 2006. As the replacement for Buick's hot selling Lucerne, the Roadmaster carries on that car's strong points and builds on them. With even more power and bold American styling, the new Roadmaster offers RWD V8 power and a refined and upscale interior. Roadmaster will be in a class of it's own, offering comparable features and refinement of luxury sedans costing thousands more. Starting at the high end of the 300C's price point, the Roadmaster will handily surpass that car's refinement, luxury and features, all with a distinctive American style of it's own. Positioned as a low price American Lexus LS, Roadmaster will be the integral part of Buick's renaissance plan, an excellent selling, high profit model in the Buick lineup.

JK, yeah you are right, the coupe looks way better. I think the rims on the top one really don't make it look as good as it could.

The front looks nice, but the rear (from the rear door onwards) looks a bit too exaggerated. Why is Buick replacing the Lucerne name? So they are just using the name for 1 gen? Seems kinda odd.

The 2009 Roadmaster is just in time for my current lease which expires in May 2008. I'm assuming that it will be launched by the Spring of 2008. I have always preferred rear drive cars and have more recently switched to AWD. Hopefully the 2009 Roadmaster will be available with AWD or, at least with limited slip differential. The last Buick I owned was a 1976 Electra -- a huge comfortable tank that unfortunately rusted out prematurely.

My 1993 Buick Roadmaster Limited at 230,000 is still going strong - looks new inside and out-everything works -it was built to order with all options plus electric sun roof and 10 disc CD trunk player. Just got back from towing my 24 ft boat to the lake and back (3 hrs one way) - no problem going 70 with it in tow. Will trade it in for this new one - should give me 15 to 20 years more of super fine Roadmaster quality - the best there is or ever will be!
