A district court in southern Sweden has rejected Saab Automobile's application for creditor protection, paving the way for possible bankruptcy filings from labor unions.

In its ruling Thursday, the Vanersborg District Court said it is unclear how the cash-strapped company intends to secure further funding and continue its operations.

The only way Saab can survive is if the Chinese government agrees to the signed deals. The Chinese government has yet to act on these deals. It seems doubtful that Saab would be able to hang on. Mueller is obviously not a good manager. He may be a good deal maker but that's not the way to run a company. Also it is incredible the way the Swedish government and Euro governments work in controling who can invest in Saab. I think if they lose the appeal they should just liquidate and put themselves out of their misery.Very sad.

I was saddened by this news back then, so I'm pretty much in glee with its return. When a judge denied Saab's request for protection for bankruptcy the vehicle maker shut down. What they did to Saab was nasty. It's great to see Saab back hopefully up on their feet again, they are an important part of motoring history who always did things a little differently to all the other car manufacturers. I am glad for their success.
